Our dentists and hygienists work closely together to provide a high level of care for our patients and regularly attend courses to keep abreast of new developments.

 

Our experienced practice staff offer excellent support to our clinical team in the management of our comprehensive treatment protocols.

Dr Patrick Oxbrough
BDSc MRACDS (GDP)

 

Graduated University of Melbourne 1994
Completed Membership with Royal Australian College of Dental Surgeons 2013.
Fellow, International Team for Implantology.

 

Patrick has been the Principal Dentist at Battery Point Dental Practice for the last 20 years. He has a special interest in all aspects of implant dentistry, the treatment of periodontal (gum) diseases and in the provision of cutting-edge preventive dentistry.

Dr Mason Wong
BDS (JCU)

 

Mason studied at James Cook University in Cairns from where he learnt a lot about getting patients out of pain and distress with minimal anxiety. After graduating, he worked in Melbourne and developed a special interest in restorative dentistry, oral surgery as well as periodontology.

Mason thrives to deliver excellent dentistry to restore your confidence in smiling, speaking, and eating without worries. He also loves listening to your stories as well as your wants and needs so that he could play his best role in your overall health journey.   

 

For relaxation, Mason loves exploring the nature such as hiking and scuba diving. He is also a regular at the local basketball courts and rocking climbing gym.

Dr Fatemeh Vejdani
Dr Fatemeh Vejdani
D.D.S (Babol Univ. Med. Sci.)

Fatemeh started her career as a dentist in 2011 in Iran and worked the first two years in the public sector in a regional area where she helped provide preventative, restorative and emergency dental care to the local community.

After working in the public sector she established her own private practice in her hometown, providing general dental services to both adults and children before moving to Australia.

 

Fatemeh completed her Australian dental council examinations in 2018, allowing her to practice dentistry in Australia and settled in Tasmania working in private clinics in Devonport, Launceston and Hobart before joining Battery Point Dental Practice.

 

Fatemeh believes that achieving dental health goals is teamwork and that’s why educating patients is a fundamental part of her practice. She loves helping anxious patients in overcoming their dental fears and builds their trust by taking steps according to the patient’s individual pace, always making sure her patients feel safe to express any concerns they might have.

 

Outside of work Fatemeh enjoys working out at the gym, exploring Tasmania and spending quality time with her friends.

Dr Aakriti Bhola
Dr Aakriti Bhola
BDS (Uni of Adelaide)

Dr Aakriti Bhola is a skilled and compassionate dentist with over 15 years of experience in the field. A proud graduate of the University of Adelaide, Dr Bhola has practised in private dental settings across Melbourne and Sydney before returning to her home state of Tasmania to be closer to her family. 

With a passion for continuous learning, Dr Bhola stays at the forefront of dental education and technology, regularly attending professional development courses to offer the most advanced and effective care. She is proficient in all aspects of general dentistry, with a special interest in clear aligners and minimally invasive treatments that prioritise patient comfort and optimal outcomes. 

Her calm, soft spoken nature creates a welcoming and relaxing environment for all patients, especially those who may feel anxious about dental procedures. Dr Bhola is dedicated to educating her patients, empowering them with the knowledge to make informed decisions about their oral health. 

Outside of the practice, Dr Bhola enjoys spending time with her young family, exploring new recipes in the kitchen, and practising Pilates, which helps her maintain a healthy balance between work and personal life.

Our Dental Hygienists are very valuable members of our team. They are trained to provide tailored preventive programs for our patients. Each of our Hygienists complete countless hours of continuing education every year to stay up to date with the best preventive care for their patients.

Kimberly Blanch
Bachelor of Oral Health

Kimberly is originally from Newcastle, New South Wales and graduated with a Bachelor of Oral Health Therapy with extended adult scope in 2017. Kimberly completed a two month placement in Tasmania before making the move in 2018. 

Kimberly is a gentle clinician who specializes in treating anxious patients, she strives to create an environment where her patients can feel comfortable and at ease. Kimberly also works in the Public Health Sector in Tasmania seeing patients of all ages for preventative and restorative treatment. 


Outside of work Kimberly enjoys the gym, crocheting amigurumi and spending time with her two cockatiels Piccolo and Mochi.

 Jessica Cunningham

Bachelor of Oral Health


Jessica grew up in Adelaide where she completed a Bachelor of Oral Health in 2018. She has spent the last 5 years working in Port Lincoln on the Eyre Peninsula in both public and private dental clinics. During this time Jessica loved being apart of the country community.

Jessica has a patient centered approach to dental care as she knows every person is different. She is very focused on dental education and adapts to patient needs to make sure their dental experience is as pleasant and beneficial as possible.

In her spare time Jessica likes swimming, hiking, a good book and is excited to explore Tasmania.

Alice Byrne
Practice Manager

Alice has worked at Battery Point Dental Practice for over 10 years. In this time she has completed her Certificates III and IV in Dental Assisting, Forensic Dentistry for the Dental Assistant, Certificate IV in Human Resources, Diploma of Leadership and Management and currently A Diploma in Accounting.

 

Alice is always working to further her own skills and to maintain a high level of care throughout the practice.
