Our dentists and hygienists work closely together to provide a high level of care for our patients and regularly attend courses to keep abreast of new developments.

 

Our experienced practice staff offer excellent support to our clinical team in the management of our comprehensive treatment protocols.

Dr Patrick Oxbrough
BDSc MRACDS (GDP)

 

Graduated University of Melbourne 1994
Completed Membership with Royal Australian College of Dental Surgeons 2013.
Fellow, International Team for Implantology.

 

Patrick has been the Principal Dentist at Battery Point Dental Practice for the last 14 years. He has a special interest in all aspects of implant dentistry, the treatment of periodontal (gum) diseases and in the provision of cutting-edge preventive dentistry.

Dr  Monisha Kumar
Dr Monisha Kumar
BDSc (Hons) (UQ), BOralH (USyd)

 

Monisha moved to Hobart from Brisbane in early 2019. She received her Bachelor of Dental Sciences with first class Honors from the University of Queensland. Before starting her dental degree she completed her Bachelor of Oral Health at the University of Sydney, giving her a range of experience with children and management of periodontal (gum) diseases. 

 

During her practice in Hobart and Queensland, Monisha has worked hard to further her abilities in preventative dentistry and works hard to ensure her patients feel comfortable in the dental environment. Monisha enjoys general dentistry and has a special interest in paediatric and cosmetic dentistry. 


Monisha is enjoying exploring Tasmania and making a home in Hobart. In her free time she enjoys cooking, reading and has recently started painting again.

Dr Tegan Hancock
BOralH (Qld) GDipDent

Born and raised on the Gold Coast, Tegan graduated from Griffith University in Queensland with awards for academic excellence. After undergoing a decade of more complex dental work herself (and having always been an anxious patient in the dental chair), Tegan understands the need to provide a very caring and gentle approach whilst providing high quality dentistry. Furthermore, she is forever committed to advancing her knowledge in all things health-related through continuing education. Tegan regularly attends to courses/seminars to be able to best help her patients achieve optimal oral and general health.

In her recreational time, Tegan loves to be outdoors, whether it be hiking, kayaking or rock climbing. She also enjoys drawing/art, building furniture, trying her luck in gymnastics and circus training and playing a tune or two on the ukulele!

Our Dental Hygienists are very valuable members of our team. They are trained to provide tailored preventive programs for our patients. Each of our Hygienists complete countless hours of continuing education every year to stay up to date with the best preventive care for their patients.

Georgina Winstone
Dip Dental Hygiene


Proudly Hobart 'born and bred' Georgina studied in South Australia and graduated with a Diploma in Dental Hygiene in 2002.

 

Georgina worked for three years in Hobart before moving to beautiful Switzerland for eight years where she worked in the German speaking part of Switzerland. After a short stint living in the charming New Forest in England, she settled permanently back in Tasmania in 2014 before commencing work here at Battery Point Dental in April 2015.

 

Georgina is dedicated to enhancing the dental health and overall health of patients. Georgina is currently studying a unit within Health Science at UTAS and is always on the lookout for ways to improve systemic health with a focus on prevention and improvement of the oral environment.

Emily Davis
Bachelor of Oral Health

Emily studied in Rockhampton after moving from her original home in Melbourne. She graduated with a Bachelor of Oral Health Therapy in 2015. Emily also works for the Public Health Service and has done so for the last 6 years with a special interest in paediatric dental care and preventative dentistry. 

 

Emily is dedicated to helping patients develop and maintain a healthy oral hygiene routine and has a keen interest in nutrition and how this can affect the oral cavity as well as a person's overall health.

 

In her spare time Emily enjoys exploring Tasmania, spending time with her Husband and walking her golden retriever Archerbald. She is also currently learning to speak French.

Alice Byrne
Practice Manager

Alice has worked at Battery Point Dental Practice for over 10 years. In this time she has completed her Certificates III and IV in Dental Assisting, Forensic Dentistry for the Dental Assistant, Certificate IV in Human Resources and a Diploma of Leadership and Management. 

 

Alice is always working to further her own skills and to maintain a high level of care throughout the practice.
